Fresh Inset Solutions launches digital platform for U.S. apple growers

Fresh Inset Solutions, a member of the EIC Scaling Club, has launched a new e-commerce platform that gives U.S. apple growers, packing houses and cold-storage operators direct access to its MaTri® 1-MCP post-harvest solutions.

The platform combines online ordering with treatment planning tools, helping growers calculate product needs, plan applications and manage post-harvest treatments more independently. It is designed to make 1-MCP technology easier to access at a time when growers are facing rising costs, labour pressures and tighter margins.

Giving growers more control over post-harvest treatment

Maintaining fruit quality after harvest is a critical part of the apple supply chain. Effective post-harvest management can help growers improve pack-out rates, reduce waste and extend the period in which produce can be marketed.

Fresh Inset Solutions’ new platform brings product selection, dosage calculation and ordering into a single digital environment. Growers can enter the dimensions of a cold-storage room into the DoseRight Calculator and receive an immediate recommendation for the amount of product required.

This replaces a process that can otherwise depend on manual calculations and coordination with external representatives.

By placing these tools directly in growers’ hands, the company aims to make treatment planning faster and more flexible, particularly during busy harvest periods.

Expanding access to MaTri technology

The platform provides access to Fresh Inset Solutions’ MaTri product range, including MaTri Powder, MaTri Tablets and MaTri SURE.

MaTri products use 1-MCP technology to help maintain fruit firmness and freshness after harvest. MaTri SURE also allows growers to check treatment performance on site, without relying on external laboratory analysis.

This can give operators greater visibility over how treatments are performing while reducing the time and complexity involved in managing post-harvest applications.

Growers who need additional support can still work directly with Fresh Inset Solutions’ post-harvest specialists on treatment programmes, storage conditions and product selection.

Supporting a more digital produce supply chain

The launch also reflects a wider shift towards digital tools in agriculture and post-harvest management.

Rather than treating purchasing and technical decision-making as separate processes, the new platform brings them together. This gives growers more direct control over when and how they plan treatments and procure products.

For independent growers and smaller operators in particular, easier access to these tools could help reduce operational complexity and support more consistent post-harvest management.

The U.S. apple industry produces more than 11 billion pounds of apples each year and generates around $3.2 billion in farm-gate revenue, making efficient post-harvest management an important part of protecting value across the supply chain.

Reducing waste while extending market opportunities

Fresh Inset Solutions develops post-harvest freshness technologies for growers, packers and suppliers across the United States, Latin America, Canada and Europe.

Its wider portfolio also includes Vidre+, a freshness protection technology designed to integrate 1-MCP into packaging such as shipping boxes, clamshells and flexible or cardboard formats.

With its new U.S. e-commerce platform, the company is extending that focus on accessibility to the way growers purchase and manage post-harvest treatments.

By making these technologies easier to plan and use, Fresh Inset Solutions is aiming to help growers protect more of each harvest, reduce food waste and create greater flexibility in how fresh produce reaches the market.
