HyImpulse, a leading European launch services company developing and providing suborbital and orbital launch capabilities based on a proprietary propulsion technology, has announced a Series A Extension financing of more than €50 million in equity.

The company, based in Germany, is part of EIC Scaling Club's New Space market group.

This milestone reflects strong confidence from new and existing international investors in the company’s technology, commercial progress and long-term vision to strengthen Europe’s sovereign access to space.

The round was co-led by JOIN Capital and Ace Capital Partners, with participation from new investors, including North Ventures, BW-Capital, Bayern Kapital and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), alongside continued support from existing shareholders including Campus Founders Ventures. It brings the company’s total equity and public funding to more than €125 million.

The funding will accelerate development and commercialization of HyImpulse’s launch services portfolio, including

  • The second SR75 launch from SaxaVord Spaceport by the end of 2026,

  • The maiden flight of its launch vehicle SL1

  • Expand production capabilities and scale commercial operations across Europe and beyond,

  • Strengthen the company’s position in key growth markets.

“This financing reflects our investors’ confidence in our team, technology and commercial vision. Europe needs sovereign, responsive and economically sustainable launch capabilities. Our proprietary hybrid propulsion technology and suborbital and orbital services position us to meet growing demand across commercial, institutional and defence markets,” said Dr. Christian Schmierer, co-founder and CEO of HyImpulse.

Building Europe’s independent access to space and suborbital hypersonic capabilities

Access to space is increasingly critical for Europe’s economic competitiveness, technological sovereignty and security. HyImpulse’s proprietary hybrid propulsion technology combines nonexplosive paraffin fuel with liquid oxygen, offering a safe, cost-efficient and scalable alternative to conventional kerosene-based systems.

The global market for commercial launch services is expected to reach $32 billion by 2035, with further growth opportunities in suborbital launch services and responsive launch solutions. HyImpulse is capitalizing on growing demand for independent launch capabilities, with an order book of more than €350 million across its suborbital and orbital programs.
