Online Comms Academy: A Recap
On 1 October 2025, we held an Online Comms Academy for our members and other guests. Close to 100 signed up to hear PR tips and tricks, as well as hear from journalist guests covering technologies in Europe and the US.
Here are the key takeaways on how to approach them with your stories:
Lucy Adams, Technology Writer at Tech.eu, covers deep tech, materials innovation, and impactful European startups. She values concise, research-backed, and personalised pitches with clear industry relevance. Early-stage startups are welcome to reach out if they have something tangible. For embargoes or exclusives, contact her at least a week in advance.
Adam Bluestein is a writer at FastCompany, Bloomberg, and other mainstream US media outlets. He is currently particularly interested in dual-use tech, space, and quantum computing topics. Pitches should be concise, personalised, and outlet-specific. He notes that US media prioritise major, high-impact tech stories, so European companies should emphasise what makes them distinctive.

cylib confirms €26.1 million grant for battery recycling facility
The German battery recycling company plans to build a sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling facility at CHEMPARK Dormagen for European resilience. The grant will specifically finance the construction of the first stage of the industrial facility.

RDS, a French MedTech company, announced a €14 million Series A funding round for its remote monitoring and wearable patch, in order to accelerate its development in France, Germany, and the broader European market.
