This is the first newsletter after the EIC Scaling Club's official kick-off, so you'll find more information about the first cohort of 48 European deep tech scale-ups joining our network, an impression from our first event (the Ignition Forum in Belgium), and much more.

On 9 and 10 April in Brussels and Leuven, we hosted the Ignition Forum, marking the official start of the EIC Scaling Club as we on-boarded the first 48 high-growth deep tech scale-ups.

You can find some photos from the two-day event here.

The companies were carefully selected based on a number of criteria, and fall within four predefined market sector opportunities: Next-Gen Computing, Digital Security & Trust, Smart Mobility and Renewable Energies.

They have now joined our curated community of standout deep tech companies, investors, corporate innovators, mentors, media firms and other industry stakeholders.

This initial cohort of scale-ups stands to benefit from our wide range of services, and we're looking forward to working with them in the future!

As mentioned earlier, the selected companies are part of one of four pre-defined market sector groups, namely 'Digital Security & Trust', 'Next-Gen Computing', 'Renewable Energies' and 'Smart Mobility'.

But what are those market groups about? Who are the investors and other stakeholder members in the EIC Scaling Club for those groups?

How much capital have the 12 companies in each market group raised (and on average)? Where are they based? Who will be mentoring them?

Interview: EISMEA Director Jean-David Malo takes stock of the EIC's achievements to date, and challenges ahead
