Earlier this month, we were honoured to present the seven exceptional leaders who will support the EIC Scaling Club as Council Members in the coming years.

 

The Council Members’ mission is to provide valuable insights and expertise; review progress and provide feedback on the club’s plans and activities and engage in networking and collaboration opportunities with fellow members.

 

The EIC Scaling Club Council comprises a diverse group of professionals representing various sectors and disciplines, and playing different roles: Innovator, Corporate, Investor, Mentor, Media, Academic and Agency.

  • Aleph Alpha, a German startup taking on OpenAI, raised $500 million in a funding round backed by the likes of Bosch, SAP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
  • Germany’s EA Elektro-Automatik has entered a definitive agreement to be acquired by NYSE-listed technology services conglomerate Fortive in a $1.45 billion, all-cash deal.
  • The UK is investing £225 million to create an AI supercomputer.
  • French VC Serena launched Serena Data Ventures II, its new 100 million euro fund.
  • Munich AI-powered drone robotics company Quantum Systems announced the successful completion of its €63.6 million Series B funding round.
  • Quandela, the French photonic quantum computing company, successfully secured over €50 million from investors.
  • The EU’s initiative to train one million people in ‘deep tech’ has reached the “milestone” of 75 organisations pledging to support it.
  • Kvanted Ventures, the first pure-play industrial tech investor in the Nordics, launched a €70 million fund.

Europe's most promising early-stage deep tech startups:

  • Tampere-based IoT firm Wirepas has raised $22 million in a funding round led by Highland Europe.
  • Finnish Earth observation company Kuva Space has raised a €16.6 million Series A funding round.
  • Italian IoT startup WSense raised €9 million for underwater wireless communication 'harnessing the ocean's untapped potential'.
  • European battery recycling startup, Circu Li-ion, announced the successful closing of a €8.5 million seed financing round.
  • UK-based additive manufacturing software startup Ai Build raised a Series A round of $8.5 million led by IQ Capital.
  • Greek startup Lambda Automata secured €6 million in seed funding, they develops AI-first hardware and software designed to fortify European defense systems.
  • Dutch AI-powered software platform for clean mobile energy, Skoon Energy, announced the closing of €5 million in Series A funding, led by North American VC Blue Bear Capital.
  • Estonian startup Bisly, which makes green building affordable, raised €3.6 million.
