Aerones 62M funding round

Aerones, world’s leading provider of robotic inspection, maintenance, and AI-driven solutions for wind turbines, today announced it has secured $62 million in capital in a significantly oversubscribed financing round. This substantial investment will accelerate its global expansion and further propel its cutting-edge technology development.

We are very excited about the success of Aerones – member of the EIC Scaling Club within the Renewable Energies market group.

The funding round was co-led by new investors Activate Capital and S2G Investments (“S2G”), with additional participation from Carbon Equity and Overlap Holdings. Existing investors Lightrock, Blume Equity, Metaplanet, Change Ventures, and Extantia also reinforced their commitment. This latest funding builds on Aerones’ impressive financial trajectory, following a €4 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund in 2024 and a successful $30 million funding round in 2023.

Wind turbine maintenance solutions tackling tomorrow’s challenges

As the global wind industry targets a doubling in size by 2030, it faces significant challenges, including a shortage of skilled technicians and the increasing complexity of maintaining ever-larger turbines. These pressures are creating an urgent demand for efficient, scalable, and safe maintenance and inspection solutions. Aerones addresses this critical need by integrating advanced robotics with AI-powered software, significantly reducing reliance on manual labour and delivering faster, more reliable operations for wind farm operators worldwide.

“Our mission is to automate wind turbine inspection and maintenance globally,” commented Dainis Kruze, Co-founder and CEO of Aerones. “The world cannot meet its renewable energy goals without innovation – and there simply aren’t enough qualified technicians to keep up with the growth of this industry. With this new investment, we’re expanding faster than ever to meet the urgent demand for intelligent, robot-enabled and AI-powered solutions.”

This funding round follows a record-breaking year for Aerones, during which the company nearly tripled its revenue and significantly expanded its operations, solidifying its position as the global leader in robotic wind turbine inspection and maintenance.

The new $62 million investment will enable Aerones to significantly expand its operational capacity worldwide and accelerate its R&D initiatives in AI-driven automation, advanced robotics, and sophisticated customer-facing software solutions. The company plans to scale up its robot manufacturing capabilities and invest in cutting-edge predictive maintenance tools, leveraging invaluable data from thousands of robotic inspections.
