Interview: Svilen Rangelov
(Co-founder and CEO, Dronamics)
The EIC Scaling Club touched base with Svilen Rangelov, co-founder and chief executive officer of Bulgarian deep tech company Dronamics, which is building the world's first cargo drone airline.
In 2022, Dronamics was awarded a €2.5 million grant by the European Commission under the EIC Accelerator program, and secured a license to operate in Europe.
The deep tech scale-up went on to raise $40 million in pre-Series A funding in early 2023, and got to celebrate its maiden flight later that year.
The company claims its Black Swan cargo drone can enable same-day delivery to the most remote areas, up to 80% faster, 50% cheaper, and with 60% less emissions than other transportation methods.
