At the recent EIC Scaling Club Ignition Forum event, we caught up with Michiel Scheffer, who has served as President of the Board of the European Innovation Council since March 2023, for a short but sweet video interview.
A Dutch national with three decades of experience in business, academia and public policy under his belt, Scheffer explained his current role and the role of the EIC Board in general, what keeps him going as he continues to travel around Europe and beyond to meet with innovators, investors and other industry stakeholders.
Scheffer also articulated why deep tech scale-ups are so critical for the EU to support and stimulate, how the EIC Scaling Club fits into that narrative, and also discussed ways for the EIC itself to evolve in the future.
We even got him to share which changes he would make to the EIC's operations if he had unlimited power and resources at his disposal.
Check out his answers in the video below or on our YouTube channel.
